About SAF
Connecting the arts community in Southwark Southwark Arts Forum (SAF) is the cultural agency for Southwark. SAF was set up by a small group of local artists in Southwark in 1987 and now has over 3,000 members. We are a rich creative network widely known in Southwark and beyond. Our members are a creative bunch and come from all stages of careers and diverse backgrounds. They range from visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, photographers, poets, film producers, graphic designers, theatres, galleries, studios, arts organisations, community groups, education institutions, council staff, and local businesses.
Mission Statement
SAF helps artists, arts organisations and creative industries in Southwark to excel, and to have a greater impact on their local communities. We do this by providing a wide range of networking, information, and advice services.
We also advocate for the arts in the borough, talking to local government officials about the difference the arts are making to the communities in Southwark. SAF acts as a bridge, a facilitator and signpost for the arts in Southwark, all amazingly delivered by a small but dedicated and professional team of staff, volunteers and freelance associates.
