Announcement of membership fee at SAF AGM

At SAF’s AGM (08/09) we announced the introduction of an annual membership fee to be introduced some time during 2010.

A paid membership has been discussed with SAF’s membership in the past and was also put forward at last years AGM as something SAF should consider. We have decided to pursue the route of paid membership as a way to support SAF’s sustainability in the long term.

Copies of the AGM presentations, including the rationale for the introduction of a membership fee, are available on our website Networking Events page.

How it will work:

  • Annual Fee of £20
Membership is for individuals, whether as artists or as employees.
(Organisations will need to pay a membership fee for each member of staff they want to be a SAF member.)

  • Members paying the fee will continue to receive regular E-Bulletins and the ability to add items to it, access to all areas the website, invites and priority booking to SAF events and reductions on any fees, training and 1:1 support, and a range of additional membership benefits (not currently offered – for example discounts on relevant services).

  • Members in receipt of state benefits will not need to pay a membership fee but will have access to the full range of services and benefits listed above.

  • A free membership level will continue allowing members a Directory profile entry and invites to SAF events. But members at this level will not receive the E-Bulletins or the ability to upload items onto them, they will pay a higher entry fee for SAF’s services, and will not benefit from priority booking at events or any additional benefits.

More info on these details can be found via weblink above.

We are currently evolving how it will work and what the membership package will look like. We will announce regular updates during the forthcoming weeks and months.
